The renovation of 1401 Joyce on Pentagon Row, led by WDG, reimagines the property through a refined, contemporary lens that elevates both daily living and community experience. Rooted in a commitment to modern urban lifestyles, the design prioritizes high-performance building systems, durable and sophisticated material palettes, and amenity spaces that respond to evolving resident needs while supporting long-term sustainability goals.
The project focuses on a comprehensive transformation of the ground floor and penthouse-level public areas within the existing residential tower. At the ground level, the arrival experience is redefined through a welcoming, light-filled lobby that seamlessly connects to a resident service lounge and flexible co-working environments. Wellness is central to the design, with an upgraded fitness center complemented by thoughtfully integrated restroom facilities, showers, and a sauna, creating a holistic amenity suite that supports both productivity and well-being.
At the penthouse level, the former compartmentalized sky lounge has been opened into a cohesive, multi-functional destination. By consolidating three enclosed rooms into a singular, expansive space, the design introduces a dynamic mix of co-working zones, a bar, and lounge areas, all oriented to maximize views and foster social interaction. The result is a layered, adaptable environment that transitions effortlessly from daytime work to evening gatherings.
Collectively, these interventions reposition 1401 Joyce on Pentagon Row Apartments as a forward-looking residential community, where elevated shared spaces and intentional design cultivate connection, flexibility, and a heightened sense of place.
