Description

The proposed North Hills Tower Three mixed-use office building establishes an iconic presence with its contemporary aesthetic. The soaring folded plane is a primary feature and extends upward to frame the glass curtain wall. Upper floor façades ave an architectural character that is representative of their function. Using neutral color precast concrete panels and energy-efficient high-performance windows, the design helps achieve the project’s sustainability goal of LEED Silver. The effective use of exterior glass reinforces maximum daylighting of office spaces, promoting a motivating and healthy work environment. A concave step in the massing provides an outdoor terrace on the top two floors. The sky park provides recreational space atop the parking garage, while ample vegetated green screens soften the elevation and visually anchor the base.

Amenities and convenience are key in achieving the vision of the North Hills master plan. Retail is conveniently located on the ground level. Designed with aluminum and glass exterior walls, maximized visual interaction strengthens retail success. A cafeteria and fitness center on the 8th floor are adjacent to the outdoor elevated plaza area and include a full size basketball court. Alternatively, a half-court basketball area and volleyball court is also proposed within this area as an option. The remaining and surrounding outdoor plaza area provides landscaped and terraced areas for relaxation.

The garage totals 524,941-sf, serving the office tower and neighboring residential and retail components of the development. The entry is on Plaza Street, and the loading and service areas are accessed from Six Forks Road service way. All loading/service/trash removal spaces for retail and office components will be located in an internal loading dock and service area screened from public view. The parking garage will be provided in six levels above grade, and three levels below grade. Additional parking spaces are also available on the ground floor.
