Pike & Rose Selected as Washington Business Journal Best Real Estate Deal

The Washington Business Journal honored the 25 best projects and deals from 2014. Among that select group is WDG’s project at Pike & Rose. WDG worked with Federal Realty Investment Trust (FRIT) to create an 8-story, 80,000-sf office building with 117,000-sf of retail, including a 63,000-sf, 8-screen iPic movie theater, and a 240-seat live performance venue run by the Strathmore music center. This was the first project to be built under the new zoning and land use guidelines for Montgomery County’s White Flint Sector Plan. Evan Goldman, FRIT’s Vice President of Development, noted, “The creative team worked hard to design a project filled with art, placemaking, cultural amenities, and unique architecture so that the individual elements collectively create an identifiable sense of place that is more than simply the sum of those parts.”

WDG continues to work with FRIT at Pike & Rose on a 20-story, 310,677-sf mixed-use building with 9-story, 177-key hotel topped with 10-story, 104-unit condominium with 35,000-sf retail.
