Description
WDG was commissioned by the Rotunda Unit Owners Association to provide full interior renovation services to enhance the outdated Rotunda clubhouse building. The 25,000-sf facility accommodates over 1,500 residents. The Client’s goal was to create a modern experience that enhances the existing architectural character of the 1970’s iconic structure, and to develop a long-term design solution that transcends current standards to compete with future local community centers. On a restricted budget, WDG worked closely with the client to help establish a design concept that accommodates the existing building character and provides a new experience to revive this iconic timepiece.
An elegant blend of retro and modern design elements appear throughout the building interior to help recreate an exciting, innovative and luxurious atmosphere for local residents. The re-created dome serves as an architectural element that celebrates the existing building’s form. Residents enjoy a new ground-floor entrance, lounge, library, and management office, with a grand ceremonial staircase. On the lower level, new amenities include a game room, virtual golf room, wellness center, spa and bar.
