1.2 million-sf mixed-use development, including a 320,000-sf office building, 416-unit apartment building, 336-key Westin hotel, and a 237-unit boutique condo building.

The 1.2 million-square-foot mixed-use Arlington Gateway includes an entrance to the existing Ballston Metro station. Its highly visible location at a prominent intersection and in close proximity to the new Ballston Metro entrance have positioned the project as a gateway marker for the community.

“The assembled four buildings work together to form a striking urban plaza,” says Eric Liebmann, principal of WDG Architecture. “The building designs are compatible, yet distinct from one another.” The office tower is 320,000 square feet with 50,000 square feet of retail space on the first two levels. Arlington Gateway also boasts the Continental, a 21-story, 404,000-sf condominium with 416 units, and the Westin, a 15-story, 240,000-sf full-service hotel with 336 guest rooms. The last building is the Spire, a 23-story condominium tower with 237 high-end units.

The office, hotel and apartment buildings are grouped around a landscaped plaza that is the focal point of the site. Each building has a clearly defined entry point accessed from the plaza via pedestrian walkways. The plaza includes extensive water features integrated with landscaped areas for seating and outdoor dining.
