Description
Thayer & Spring is a mixed-use apartment building with 399 units located just off Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, MD. In addition to 9,880-sf of retail space, the project includes a public parking garage and large public amenity and courtyard space. A renovation of Mayor’s Promenade helps to create a strong, protected pedestrian sequence between Georgia Avenue and Fenton Street, anchoring the project to both streets and further activating the public courtyard. The building is designed with the animated and eclectic spirit of the Fenton Village area in mind. Elevations are broken down into a variety of elements, differentiated by material differences and a rich layering hierarchy. The design presents a modern yet contextual flair, which embraces the quirky and unique character of the existing neighborhood.
Amenities include a rooftop pool, sundeck, fitness room, yoga studio, club/game room, children’s playroom, and a dog wash facility. Thayer & Spring is part of a two-phase, mixed-use development that will ultimately provide over 700 residential units and 30,000-sf retail.
