Description

University Town Center began as Prince George's Metro Center in 1961 with the vision of a city-within-a-city. Today it is a 40-acre, 1.4 million square foot mixed-use development located one block from a metro station and in close proximity to the University of Maryland. The original master plan was first implemented with two office buildings designed by Edward Durrell Stone. WDG designed three buildings: an office building for the Centers for Disease Control; One Independence Plaza, an 8-story, 160,000-sf condominium with 112 units; and Plaza Lofts Twenty-Two, a boutique apartment building with 5-stories and 22 loft-style units.
